Sixt launches Sixt+ car subscription service

Multinational rental company Sixt has launched a flexible and all-inclusive car subscription service, Sixt+, with prices starting at £399 per month.

It is the start of a global roll-out of services currently offered in its home German market, including car sharing, flexible leasing and ride hailing.

Sixt+ allows the customer to get their own car with a no strings attached contract that can be cancelled monthly by returning the vehicle.

All subscribers can enjoy the latest car models on a permanent basis, with cars available within a few days at Sixt branches.

The new all-inclusive subscription includes auto-liability, theft protection, routine maintenance and a free mileage package.

The service, booked and managed via the Sixt+ app, is only available on cars, although Sixt has seen huge growth in its van fleet and doesn’t rule out adding light commercials at a later stage, the company told Smart Transport's sister title Fleet News earlier this year.

Commenting on the official launch, Sixt’s UK managing director UK Tim Vetters said:  “Sixt is emerging from the Coronavirus crisis thoughtfully, but also with vitality and determination.

“Our new Sixt+ offer is a logical response to society’s changing mobility needs. With Sixt+, we are optimally expanding our portfolio of flexible rental offers and the service via our app.”
