Free Smart Transport webinar: Making clean air solutions work

Smart Transport is to host a free webinar providing expert insight into the success cities are having in putting sustainable transport strategies in place that are making a tangible difference to air quality.

The session, which will be sponsored by ALD Automotive and Groupe Renault UK, takes place on April 30 at 11am and is chaired by Stephen Joseph OBE, chair of Smart Transport.

The webinar replaces the seminar session at the Smart Transport Conference on March 17, which was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Experts from local government, leasing companies and car manufacturers will offer their thoughts in three 15-minute sessions before taking part in a Q&A panel.

The first speaker is Dolly Oladini, air quality network manager at C40 Cities, the network of the world’s megacities committed to addressing climate change.

She will present a session all about how C40’s city-to-city sharing model can drive action on urban climate change across the world.

Oladini previously worked for the Mayor of London, where she led a flagship project for the European Commission, Hydrogen for Innovative Vehicles (HyFIVE) under two political administrations.

This included coordinating global vehicle manufacturers to develop solutions to improve air quality and mitigate climate change in London and other major European cities.

Matt Dale, ALD Automotive head of consultancy, will lead a session that will explore how UK businesses will continue to successfully operate in cities that have introduced Clean Air Zones and air quality measures.

Dale has led ALD Automotive’s consultancy team for nearly five years and has over 30 years’ experience in the motor industry.

Previous roles include, national LCV sales manager at Nissan Motors GB and head of commercial vehicles at Lombard Vehicle Management.

Last year he was crowned ‘Unsung Fleet Hero’ by the Energy Saving Trust in November 2017. He uses his extensive knowledge of alternative fuels and financial analysis to support businesses to develop sustainable and cost effective mobility policies.

Mark Dickens, fleet director at Groupe Renault UK, will provide a car manufacturer’s perspective on how businesses and individuals can meet air quality targets today, tomorrow and beyond.
