Last year we welcomed the publication of the long-awaited national strategy for buses, ‘Bus Back Better’. Campaign for Better Transport had lobbied for almost a decade for such a strategy to address the long-term decline of local buses and create a bus network that was affordable, simple to use, well-connected and fit for a greener, more sustainable transport future.
A year has passed and it’s becoming increasing difficult not to be cynical.
