Videalert bus lane enforcement system approved by Transport Scotland

Videalert, a UK supplier of intelligent traffic management and enforcement solutions, has achieved Approved Devices certification from Transport Scotland for its bus lane enforcement system.

The bus enforcement system is now available to local authorities across Scotland to implement CCTV enforcement of bus lanes. The system is also used as a front end by most of the leading providers of back office penalty charge notice (PCN) processing systems.

Videalert’s digital video platform supports multiple civil traffic enforcement, traffic management, community safety and low emission zone applications from CCTV infrastructure.

Tim Daniels, Videalert client development director, said the new system is already generating “significant interest” from councils across Scotland wanting to replace legacy systems at what he says is a “significantly lower cost than competitors”.

He said: “The flexible hosted platform makes it a quick and cost effective process to deploy CCTV enforcement as it does not require the installation of any IT at council offices.”
