Solar powered electric vehicle company Sono Motors has partnered with L7 Drive to create new connected services.
The Sono Sion charges its battery using solar cells that are integrated into the car's exterior and the partnership with Finland-based L7 Drive will make it a connected vehicle, with functionality like having the ability to unlock vehicles with a smartphone app or check battery status.
The collaboration will also mean Sono can expand into car sharing services.
The German-based start-up says it already has 16,000 reservations fo the Sion and will launch its first production models, which will be built in the former Saab factory in Sweden, in the first half of 2023.

Through solar panels integrated into its body, under ideal weather conditions, the Sion supplement its range with an additional 70 miles on average of range per week.
