A 1.6-acre site in Devon will become an electric vehicle (EV) charging station with 16 rapid chargers.
Salmons Leap, near Buckfastleigh and adjacent to the A38 Devon Expressway, has been acquired by Osprey Charging Network and will be home to the new 150kw DC Rapid chargers, capable of charging batteries from 20% to 80% in round 20-40 minutes.
The site, which is accessible from both the west and east bound carriageway for the A38, will also incorporate an onsite café offering drivers refreshments while they charge their EV’s.
The news comes just after Gridserve announced planning permission had been granted for its 32-bay Electric Forecourt on the A386 near Home Park in Plymouth.
South-west based property agency Charles Darrow, which handled the sale, says it is currently working with a number of EV Charge Point Operators (CPOs), who have ambitious plans to grow the EV charging network across the region.
